Several annual programmes can be visited by people living nearby or far away from hereBogács is not a big city, however, in summer it's difficult to find a weekend when there isn't some kind of event organized. And in this aspect even winter is considered to be high season. It's worth timing your weekend or your longer holiday to our traditional big events. Even more so because apart from delicious meals and wine there are always entertaining programmes so the whole family can have a really good time here.

Bath Festival

The inevitable event of the Bath Festival is electing the beauty of the bathThe three days before 20th August is traditionally the time of the Bath Festival. The parties are mainly for young people but every age-group can find a programme that they really enjoy. You can be in or out of the water doing different funny exercises, there’s the election of the beauty of the bath, and in the name of gender equality macho men are also “hunted down”. At the concerts famous Hungarian singers and bands entertain those who have had enough of being in the water for the day, however night bathing is also possible for those who can’t get enough.

grape Harvest Festival and the Display of the Dishes of the Hungarian Seasonal Workers

Not only spectacular and interesting but also delicious: at the same time of the grape harvest festival a gastronomic event takes place in Bogács, where the dishes of the Hungarian seasonal workers are displayedAt the last weekend of September really cheerful and enjoyable gastronomic programmes are held in our village. These two events are difficult to separate because the unique, traditional dishes, which are typical of this region – e.g. laksa, placki, bean soup, krumplikalács (some kind of potato cake) – go very well with the locally produced wine of the wine cellars.

Naturally music is an important part of these events, all music styles are represented here. Singers and bands entertain the audience standing in front of the stage. Also, a folk playhouse and traditional folk rush games ensure a good time for the whole family.

Martin Day festivities

The ceremony of the Saint Martin Wine Order plays an important part during the Martin Day FestivitiesAt the nearest weekend of 11th November we invite our guests to a three-day festivity at the wine cellars, where different gastronomic and cultural programmes are held. The last event is the church pardon because it’s not only the new wine and goose dishes that we celebrate but the patron saint of the church as well.

And of course the thermal bath is also a part of these festivities: on the first day you can experience a wonderful night bathing and wine tasting at the same time. On the next day there are several gastronomic and cultural lectures. After the ceremonial meeting of the Saint Martin Wine Order goose dishes and different local specialities are cooked in bogrács (Hungarian kettle) and they can be eaten for lunch.

On the stage entertaining performances take place one after the other: traditionalists, dancers, stand-up comedians.
On Sunday after a ceremonial mass a village fair starts as the last event of the festivities.
